Get altered with eclectic Paperie . . .Fabric Wings

Happy weekend everyone,
Hope you all had a great week whatever you have been up to!
Remember this from the begining of the week . . .
. . . well I felt she was needing that little extra something so with the new
 the theme being - Fabric
and hosted by the very talented Micki . . . you have to see what she made it`s STUNNING and my favourite thing. . . HEARTS . . .plus inspiration from the rest of the design team . . .AMAZING!

Fabric Wings

Have a little lookie at this . . .
Cardboard, Distress Ink Stains . . . Oh, and my fabric is an old Ikea cushion cover which I loove but sadly had seen better times!
Something very satisfying when with a snip here and another here then . . . rip, pull, tear . . . so you end up with lots of this . . .
Then draw a set of wings onto cardboard . . . snip, snip, snip . . .
take some Claudine Hellmuth Multi Medium and get sticking!!!
Soooo I got carried away AGAIN and stopped taking pictures . . .but I can tell you how super easy it was to add colour!
Take distress stains, splodge some onto your craft mat, add water {LOTS} and with a paintbrush apply it to the wings randomly until your happy.
Me I needed to get some Distress re-inkers and splat more ink in places, more water then a blast with my ever trusty heat tool to quicken up the drying, plus add that slightly aged look that I love.
Fixed in place with a hot glue gun . . . glad to report that no fingers got burnt this time, lol!
My boys bought me gorgeous materials years ago and it has been sitting around just waiting to be put to use sooooo . . . I chopped some up into strips, poked it in around the skirt, hot glued it into place for an extra punch of colour and I was done!
If you read the blog post on making the dress { you can find it HERE } you will know that my lovely Mum donated the paper Mache Mannequin.
Soooo as it`s Mothers Day here in Scotland tomorrow and I looove her to the moon and back . . .
plus Mum loves crafting
and
so it`s full of inspirational words
I thought it would be a great addition in her craft room.
All that is left to say is . . .
come on over and join in the fun at

Holy Cow! I thought the mannequin was outstanding before but now with those wings, it's beyond amazing. They have the loveliest texture and the colourization makes them look other-worldly and magical. Creativity plus! I hope your mom gives you visitation rights to this project. It's truly lovely.
